History[]

Satori is teenage brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee's legal guardian, tutor and martial arts instructor.

Years ago, after finding the fabled "Double Dragon" medallion during an excavation, Billy and Jimmy's father gave the artifact to Satori right before the excavation collapsed, warning her that the powers of the dragon were far too dangerous for one person to possess. After he died, Satori made a promise to herself to look out for his two sons, as well as the medallion. In order to keep it safe, she broke it into two pieces, hiding one half in a monks village in China and keeping the other one herself. She became the brothers' legal guardian and started living with them in the abandoned Deville Theater in New Angeles.

Being informed by a gang thug of the whereabouts of Satori's half of the medallion, crime lord Koga Shuko, accompanied by some of his minions, ambushed the trio inside the theater, where it was revealed that both him and Satori knew each other well from the excavation incident, when back then he was known by his real name: Victor Guisman. He then showed her that he had already found the other half of the medallion. When Shuko noticed that Billy was carrying their half around his neck, a fight ensued. At one point, he used the powers of his half to enter Satori's body in an attempt trick the bothers to give him their piece, although they managed to discover the ruse and freed her from his influence.

During these events, his henchmen started pouring gasoline inside the theater and Shuko then demanded them to surrender the artifact or he would light the building on fire. Not being intimidated by his words, the three heroes attempted to escape and he then threw a burning box of matches on the combustible liquid. After making sure that the brothers had safely escaped the burning building, Satori, in a heroic act, locked herself up inside the theater along with Shuko, and sacrificed her life in order to buy them some time. Unfortunately, Shuko used the power of his medallion to escape the building.

In their final encounter, the brothers managed to retrieve and unite both halves of the medallion, gaining with this its powers. While doing so, Satori manifested to them one last time and told them that destiny brought together the "Double Dragons"; she then instructed them to guard them as she once did. Encouraged by these words, the brothers finally defeated Shuko and put an end to his evil plans.
