Mythril - Double Dragon Neon - 01

Mythril is a mystical metal that appears in Double Dragon Neon. It is either dropped or stolen from bosses and it allows the player to increase the level cap of Mix Tapes, thus granting the player character the ability to grow further in strength, resilience and fighting techniques.

Defeated bosses drop it in quantities that increase with the difficulty setting:

  • Normal: 3 Mythril
  • Dragon: 7 Mythril
  • Double Dragon: 17 Mythril

It can also be stolen from bosses by the use of the Song Snatch Mix Tape.

Obtained Mythril cannot be used on its own by the player. They must first find one of the shops that are scattered along the many levels that comprise the game. Once inside, the Tapesmith can use the player's collected Mythril to increase the level cap of Mix Tapes, raising them from the starting limit of 10 to a maximum of 50, as seen in the table below:

Maximum level Mythril required
10 0
20 2
30 6
40 10
50 12

  • Mithril is a fictional metal found in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. It appears in many derivative fantasy works by later authors. It is described as resembling silver, but being stronger and lighter than steel. Tolkien first wrote of it in The Lord of the Rings. The name mithril comes from two words in Tolkien's Sindarin language—mith, meaning "gray", and ril, meaning "glitter".
