Double Dragon Revive (ダブルドラゴンリヴァイヴ Daburu Doragon Rivaivu^?) is an upcoming beat 'em up video game in the Double Dragon series developed by Yuke's and published by Arc System Works, scheduled for release in 2025.

Plot[]

15 years have passed since the end of the nuclear war. People who managed to survive have built colonies in various parts of the devastated world and live there. However, over these 15 years, the concept of a country has been lost, and the powerful people who govern the colonies now control the politics and laws.

This colony established on the coast is also a city, ruled by some of these powerful people. A gang called the Shadow Warriors.Since they took control, the gap between rich and poor in the colony has intensified. People living in the slums have been forced to live a hard life, and there are constant rumors of mysterious disappearances.

The Lee brothers, masters of the Sosetsuken, live in a corner of such a city with their childhood friend Marian. The honest younger brother Billy and the free-spirited older brother Jimmy. When the Sosetsuken dojo they inherit ends in the way of the city’s evil schemes, the story begins...

Development[]

The earliest report of Double Dragon Revive came from Game Rant on June 24, 2024 when Arc System Works filed a pending application to trademark the name on June 20th.^[2] Double Dragon Revive was first revealed to the public in an article featured in the July 7-13 issue of Weekly Famitsū. According to the magazine, the new game faithfully reproduces the thrill of old school side-scrolling action games, with updated controls and difficulty settings for the modern era, and utilizing Arc System Works' fighting game development experience. Billy Lee, Jimmy Lee, Roper, Abobo, and more were teased to appear in stylish 3D. The game was announced to be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.^[3]

On August 21th, the official website featured an update that included an about section, a summary of the Double Dragon series, the story to Double Dragon Revive, and a list of background music composers.^[4]
